What is the difference between the lytic and lysogenic cycles of virus reproduction?
Basically, in the lytic cycle the cell is completely destroyed and in the lysogenic cycle reproductions happens at subsequent cell divisions.
In the lytic cycle, a virus enters the cell membrain and releases it's genetic material. This cell can now be targeted by the immune system. The virus then uses the cell to make more virus components that then combine into complete viruses. By doing this, the virus can direct the cell to deflect any liquid or fluid. After a while, the cell wall is broken down and finally allows fluid to enter. After the cell has been flooded with enough viruses (usually 100 - 200), the cell bursts and the viruses are free to infect other cells.
The lysogenic cycle is the fusion of the nucleic acid of the infecting bacterium with that of the host bacterium. The new genetic material is then passed via cell division on to the daughter cells which can then be released by a later event (an example being UV radiation). This type of reproduction is most common in prokaryotes, but can also occur in eukaryotes.
If a tree fell in the woods and someone was there but he/she was deaf, would it make a sound?
Of course.
Just because deaf people don't believe in sound, doesn't mean it's not there. How close minded can you be?

I've nothing better to do, really.
